It came to my attention that Apple Arcade will be launching 19.9.2019 with IOS13.

After reading some stuff and watching some nice presentations, I concluded, that I need this... 5 USD/month, and some of those games are really my style.

Well, at least I will try the free trial for 1 month...

However this makes me think.. because soon Google service Stadia will also come out, and that service is coming with even bigger and better games...

If Mondays suck, this year Tuesdays are even worse.

Beatriz school had the brilliant idea of having Tuesdays and Fridays school starting at 8am... and that implies to get out of bed, zombie at 6:30.. Not very funny...

Day 256 - Year 0 - Unbelievable - 15.9.2019

We started watching a new mini-series on Netflix called Unbelievable, a nice story, but it looked like poor actors in the beginning.

And we could not stop, till the end.. highly recommended, the live of the actor didn't went further, but the story is very good, recommended.

Day 255 - Year 0 - School Flea Marked - 14.9.2019

We like Loppemarked (flea marked), and I think I wrtote about this before, but just in case is used things that are given to schools for them to sell and get some money.

We came home with lots of books and more clothes for my "grandchildren".

Day 254 - Year 0 - Mindhunter - 13.9.2019

Have you ever watched Mindhunter Tv Series from Netflix? 

You should, it is mind blowing.. The second season has been out for a while, but only now I had time to watch it :) it is amazing!!!

But bear in mind that is a show about serial killers, with a very fast pace and a lot of mind games and you need to read in between the lines often...

Manflu in recovery... day 2..

Today I feel much better, however still a very sore throat, and didn't took a chance to go outside in the cold, yes, it is cold in Norway.

So to spend the time in the computer not working, but trying to have  fun in between sneezes and throats clear.. 

Today I configured OBS and Twitch to stream games and camera to the web... sound like very youth in the 20's right? But I was streaming retro emulated games, so now it seems very old :)

I will stream more and more, if I have time....

Day 252 - Year 0 - ManFlu - 11.9.2019

In this 9.11 I will not write about towers, but about that terrible disease called man flu.

I am not sure if I wrote before about this, but this comes every 6 months and now it had hit strong.

For the first time in many years I have slept past 12pm, and feeling very very bad. Sore throat muscle pain, migraine... well the entire symptoms.

The good thing is that it normally lasts only 3/4 days..

My luck is that I have 2 very good nurses at home that are taking good care..

Day 250 - Year 0 - Valg Dag - 9.9.2019

Valg is selection, and dag is day.

Valgdag, Election day, and it was today. The election for Bydel, and Område (local and district, freguesia e distrito).

In Norway you are automatically registered as a voter if you are a resident for the last 3 years prior to election, but you are only entitled for this local election (as far as I know).

You get a voting card with all the information, where and howto at home, and off you go.

For Beatriz, it was free day, as her school was used for the election.

And yes, election day on a Monday.. not on a Sunday as in Portugal..

Beatriz today called one of her friends, and went to play for a few hours.

Later we had a birthday party, Portuguese style... we arrived home rolling...

Damn.. Why do we eat so much?

Day 248 - Year 0 - Ikea - 7.9.2019

It has been a while since the last time we had visited Ikea.

But today we went to get some stuff and for some meat balls for lunch.

There is no video proof, but me and Beatriz we used the big Ikea karts as a scooter (trotinete) in the big corridors... It was fun...

Why Not?

Today I was browsing used computers in Finn.no that is the Norwegian equivalent of OLX, and I noticed a very nice and well conserved iMac from 2008.

The specs were not bad:

- 2,8 GHz Intel core 2 Duo 
- 4GB Ram 
- ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 
- 24 inch 1920x1080p 
- 320GB Harddisk
- Keyboard
- Mouse
- infrared remote

And for 100 Euros this makes a very nice media center...

Started talking with the gentlemen for any discount, and it lowers to 90 euro...

Bla bla bla, is the computer ok, any scratch, screen, etc... all good...

I mention I could pick up today, and I get a phone call, that if I would pick up right away, he was making 80 euros...

Today we spent the entire day at Verdens Kuleste Dag (Earth Coolest Day) in Oslo. 

A lot of events for kids with a environmental message on multiple fronts.

It was very very nice, but we were too optimistic for the weather and it was windy and chilly...

It also included summer "ice" skating, that was nothing more that using ice skates in some teflon plates, very nice...

Today I was making Home Office....

One of the perks I really enjoy after I started working in Norway is flexibility. 

Working from home... turn you computer on, connect to VPN and work remotely.

It happens often that some colleagues didn't even notice that we are out, and workflow keeps on moving.

Working at home has advantages, sometimes I think I work even more productive, because there are less "talk", coffee breaks, less distractions, it really works nice.

Day 224 - Year 0 - Along the Coast - 14.8.2019

So, with insomnia, comes? Very sleepy person the day after.

So today (yesterday, because I am writing on the 15th, crazy isn't it?) I was sleepy head. Fall asleep in the sofa after work and wake up decided that something had to be done.

So I got my snickers (the running shoes), bottle of water and off I go... Just a short walk he said.... just to Lysaker he said....

1,5 hour later, it was 9pm... better return by bus and go to the supermarket to get some dinner... 

Most of the walk I did, I had already done most of it, but there was a very nice part, that is on private land, but that you are entitled to walk, if you follow the path and the rules.... really nice..

It is becoming recurrent that I don't write everyday, I am becoming really worried with myself.

And now, today 3 days apart I am trying to remember what I have done in this day Tuesday after work.

I was heavily dedicated trying to find out who could have an remote external dropper post in 27.2mm for my bicycle so that downhill is less dangerous... 

And I remember the insomnia during the night...

Day 222 - Year 0 - Mountain Biking - 12.8.2019

I was bout to write cycling, but that is too generic, and road cycling is nothing compared...

It all started real slow, but the muscles were nice, then, just go a bit more.. up to Trivann? why not... thru the downhill tracks... go for it...

Continue downhill in some full of stones new single tracks, off course sir... not happy? go up-hill again to cross to Sognsvann side...

oh that trail was the one the one guy was come up the other day.... good, lets try it downhill... water, rocks mud... sweet....

Continue to downtown almost always on gravel to not wear the new tires... and almost home... 

The tour of Bygdoy, why not? it only 10km more :)


Now, as I write this, it hurts...

Is there any capital city in the world, that you see "Bambi" in residential areas? There is, Oslo...

In Vigeland park... That one with the Bronze statue of kids, and naked persons, in a not so know place..

Day 221 - Year 0 - Hiking - 11.8.2019

After a day in the sofa, the body was aching... so nothing better that put the blood to circulation.

A few months ago I had passed some stairs while cycling that I had promised that I would climb them, and it was today.

After one hour in Tram and Subway I finally arrive to the skirts of Oslo, Stovner.

I took one hiking trail marked in UT.no that took me to Liastua, from there, I had the Sherpatrappa (the Stairs of Sherpa's), yes they were build by Nepalese Sherpas.

So I went up the stairs and down thru the woods, around 5km hiking.

Amazing forrest trails, very slippery...

Because I was not yet happy, I took the subway to Nydalen and walked along the river down to Matthalen. always lovely walk.

First day of the weekend, day of deserved rest...

Sofa, Fouton, Sofá, Couch, Chaise-Long.... Basically it was this.... with variants, lay on the right and after on the left..

Finally friday, and what is best than gather some friends around the table outdoor, grill some meat and drink some beers? Very few things.

Power day at work, out of Bed,cof cof, out of sofa at 6, straight to shower, and be the first in the office at 7am.

Damn, what a energy...

Work like hell, get home, do some cleaning, laundry and go out shopping, change the fish water, and make it look like a decent house :)...

One week ago I was complaining about having to go back to work.

And, it was only now that I feel completely ready for doing it.

Finally today after work, I went to do something that was planned for long.

Finally we went cycling... the first 4km were killing, 3km uphill to start and after 20km the final steep hill to the top of the mountain but with a killer view..

In the afternoon a car tour of the place and 4h driving home, and fall asleep really quick.

Not easy... and to avoid further problems, today I loaded the car and headed to the mountains to Hemsedal for some Mountain biking tomorrow.

The car support is perfect and very convenient.

After a painful set of hours in the office, I finally grabbed the bicycle after almost one month..

I should have gone easy on myself... it hurts... Legs, shoulders, back..

Eva and Beatriz went to Portugal.

The Turkey holidays are over...

But not our holidays... Today it was day to wash and dry clothes... all day, and for Beatriz to play with her friends in the neighborhood.

The Casa de Papel season 3 was seen, and we just want the season 4 to come out...

Day 208 - Year 0 - Turkey Holidays Day 14 - 29.7.2019

The last day has come, we are still here, but we are already missing this.

We spent the entire morning and beginning of the afternoon in the beach, and checked out around 16h...

We will only be picked-up around 18h by a bus that will take us to the airport for our 22h flight.

As I write in the cold Infra Lounge, Beatriz is in one of her favourite places, The Kids Club watching some youtube.

And that is it, most likely nothing interesting will happen today, but if so I will write about it tomorrow...

Day 207 - Year 0 - Turkey Holidays Day 13 - 28.7.2019

Tic-Tac Tic-Tac does the clock, while time is running out and we are close to the end of this set of holidays.

We tried to maximize the beach and the ocean to the maximum, also the colour of our skin is Browniezed... :D.

Today we had Turkish dances, and a lady doing Belly Dance..

Day 206 - Year 0 - Turkey Holidays Day 12 - 27.7.2019

And we ran out of Turkish Lira... Last night we spent all our remaining money shopping.

PS: for the ones still smoking.. soon at our place you can try our brand new Shisha...

So for now is only Beach and Beach... much better that the pool, and we have waves, not very powerful, but lots of fun.

We found 2 hotdogs in the beach... and the 3 of us spent hours in the warm mediterranean water.... hours...

Do you know breakfast is the most important meal of the day, it is extremely important.. (PS: The oranges were very sour...)

The choices are really hard around here....

Decisions, decisions, decisions...

After a heavy dinner, it is very important to make a decent digestion, nothing better than a cocktail to help... 

(PS: Beatriz cocktail is alcohol free) (and it will be at least for the next 30 years)

No Rain,
No Cold,
No Stress...

Nice sunsets, very nice water temperature, and very nice cocktails...

There are lives much more cheaper, but not worthy.....

Day 203 - Year 0 - Turkey Holidays Day 9 - 24.7.2019

Today we made it differently..

We had breakfast (normally we sleep too much).... and then we return to room, and we left for lunch :)... too hot outside..

We played some Uno, I won (normally I am humiliated by Beatriz and Eva)...

And in the afternoon we bath ourselves in the 30,5 degC swimming pool... 

Too painful to watch... A real suffering...

In the evening after the dance show we relaxed...

Tomorrow we set sail...

Day 202 - Year 0 - Turkey Holidays Day 8 - 23.7.2019

Another full day of hard work, you cannot imagine how tired we feel..

Carry heavy weights from the bar to the pool bed... drag ourselves thru the stairs to the beach, having cold showers to remove the sand before going again in the swimming pool..

Having no rain, no snow, no cold... It is very hard... trust me..

Our swimming pool has 3 windows to the beach underwater.. Say hello!
