Day 251 - Year 0 - Winter - 10.9.2019

Winter has not arrived yet, but it is coming.

Rain, and very chilly mornings are here.

Today Beatriz went to Engineerium, a science museum where she was able to make experiences with her colleagues. I need to go there....

Day 250 - Year 0 - Valg Dag - 9.9.2019

Valg is selection, and dag is day.

Valgdag, Election day, and it was today. The election for Bydel, and Område (local and district, freguesia e distrito).

In Norway you are automatically registered as a voter if you are a resident for the last 3 years prior to election, but you are only entitled for this local election (as far as I know).

You get a voting card with all the information, where and howto at home, and off you go.

For Beatriz, it was free day, as her school was used for the election.

And yes, election day on a Monday.. not on a Sunday as in Portugal..

Day 249 - Year 0 - Play Play - 8.9.2019

Beatriz today called one of her friends, and went to play for a few hours.

Later we had a birthday party, Portuguese style... we arrived home rolling...

Damn.. Why do we eat so much?

Day 248 - Year 0 - Ikea - 7.9.2019

It has been a while since the last time we had visited Ikea.

But today we went to get some stuff and for some meat balls for lunch.

There is no video proof, but me and Beatriz we used the big Ikea karts as a scooter (trotinete) in the big corridors... It was fun...

Day 247 - Year 0 - iMac - 6.9.2019

Why Not?

Today I was browsing used computers in Finn.no that is the Norwegian equivalent of OLX, and I noticed a very nice and well conserved iMac from 2008.

The specs were not bad:

- 2,8 GHz Intel core 2 Duo 
- 4GB Ram 
- ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 
- 24 inch 1920x1080p 
- 320GB Harddisk
- Keyboard
- Mouse
- infrared remote

And for 100 Euros this makes a very nice media center...

Started talking with the gentlemen for any discount, and it lowers to 90 euro...

Bla bla bla, is the computer ok, any scratch, screen, etc... all good...

I mention I could pick up today, and I get a phone call, that if I would pick up right away, he was making 80 euros...

Well, I went..

Day 244 - Year 0 - Parents Meeting - 3.9.2019

Who doesn't love a 2 hour parents meeting at school.

I love it so much that I want Eva to have them... Off course, she is the Norwegian speaking grown up..

Day 243 - Year 0 - Reports - 2.9.2019

Once upon a time a work colleague commented to me that the higher you go on hierarchy the more reports you have to do...

To be honest that is fairly accurate..

So, report report report....

Day 242 - Year 0 - Sunday - 1.9.2019

September as arrived, and outside we start to see falling leafs, temperature is falling every day, days are smaller and smaller...

At 20:30 is still day, but soon it will be night.

Autumn is coming very quick...

 

Day 241 - Year 0 - Verdens Kuleste Dag - 31.8.2019

Today we spent the entire day at Verdens Kuleste Dag (Earth Coolest Day) in Oslo. 

A lot of events for kids with a environmental message on multiple fronts.

It was very very nice, but we were too optimistic for the weather and it was windy and chilly...

It also included summer "ice" skating, that was nothing more that using ice skates in some teflon plates, very nice...
