Day 131 - Year 0 - Singapore - Qatar - Oslo - 11.5.2019

Basically the entire day in the air.

I left Singapore around Saturday 2 am (20h of Friday Oslo) and arrived Saturday 14h at Oslo Saturday.

It is long long time, luckily I managed to sleep almost the entire trip to Doha, around 8 hours.

Before landing in Doha we Zig-Zagged...

Remember the night landing...?  Now just watch the day landing :)

Really nice Wooden statue in Doha Airport, looks like a mix of Pinocchio with Mickey Mouse... Maybe some Arabic cartoon?

It was Ramadan, and we were warned before landing that eating and drinking in public are forbidden, also a nice reminder below of the segregation...

Day 130 - Final Day at Singapore 10.5.2019

So, it is now time to go.

I have a flight at 2am, straight to Qatar, and then straight to Oslo.

I will roughly be in Oslo in a mere 24 hours....

This late afternoon I managed to go for a walk around the city, not much possible has I had to check out at 6pm, but I managed to explore China town, that I was only there twice in the evening.

Funny about Chinatown in Singapore is that you will find a Mosque, and a Budist temple in the neighborhood.

I really love the mixture and the peace between cultures in this city.

Day 129 - Year 0 - Singapore Day 5 - 9.5.2019

So one more day and more work, but today after work I made it to the gym to spin the bicycle standing still in the same place, and got revenge of the water of the swimming pool of the hotel.

Quick dinner, walk along the river and hotel back again. Tomorrow 6am.

Day 128 - Year 0 - Singapore day 4 - 8.5.2019

When you think it could not be worst... it is..

How can days be so long... it started with 1,5 in a taxi to a shipyard that is almost in Malasya, and ended up the day in a shipyard in another yard..

And just finished now.. 21:30...

I think I need to register myself in WA and go for the 12 steps... Workaholics Anonymous.

Something I stepped into on my way to Linner.. if there is Brunch (breakfast + lunch) Linner is also valid (Lunch + dinner)...

Day 127 - Year 0 - Singapore Day 3 - 7.5.2019

It was such a long working day, that there was no time for pseudo-writer me. So I am writing with one day delay..

Best thing I can leave here is this amazing photo of the hotel swimming pool... That I managed to be there for some minutes to relax... in between the day and night shift :)

Day 126 - Year 0 - Singapore day 2 - 6.5.2019

Hei, here I am in one of the well know turistic destinations.. "you are so lucky, you travel so much"... I believe I have written something in respect to this before... but it is never too much.

So it has been 2 days since I am in this hot town... Yes it is hot 32 degrees, with a lot of humidity taking the "feeling" to 36 degrees.

So what I did today? Woke up early, took breakfast in the hotel and got into a taxi. Arrived at the shipyard, spent the entire morning in freezing cold meeting room (yes, hot countries have this problem), left the shipyard, had lunch in some shopping mall an taxi to the hotel where I spent the rest of the day almost till now working.

And you, curious reader, might ask? Why work so much?

And I reply... Because all my estimated colleagues are in Europe 8 hour behind and we need each other to make things work, so that tomorrow we can present our client with a lovely plate of work served with a fresh and creamy solution to their problems.

A shower, dinner and here I am...

The best tourism I got today, was walking the same 500 meters as yesterday to the restaurant area close to the hotel.

It is not much, but the city lights are really really nice..

Tomorrow the plan is to have dinner in the streets of China Town, some fried shrimp or something similar. According to a local Portuguese friend that lived here for some years, totally safe. 

PS:If I get some liquid "shit", you are "f0ck3d"... - just kidding, last time I had dinner in a local restaurant and survived..

Day 125 - Year 0 - Singapore day 1 - 5.5.2019

In the Portuguese mother day, Eva and Beatriz got the entire day for themselves, and will have the entire week as well :)...

So after landing in Singapore, having another 30-45 minutes taxi ride, I finally arrived at the hotel, and it was time for a long and very well deserved shower!! Thank you Water!

Dinner followed after a 15 minute walk to the "center"...

And that is is, just a little more work to prepare for tomorrow and BED, SLEEP and SNORING....

Day 124 - Year 0 - Qatar - 4.5.2019

I am in the beginning of having jetlag, not much yet.

I stopped in Qatar for a flight connection on my way to Singapore. The duration is only one hour more than in Oslo, so really no big deal.

As I write, I am sitting on the floor close to gate B8 waiting for boarding that will commence roughly in 1 hour.

6,5h flight is gone, I will still have another 8 hours on the air.

I cannot upload any photos, neither videos... network too slow..

Tomorrow I will.

Day 123 - Year 0 - Time to Pack 3.5.2019

Today it was time to pack for a week of vacations (not)...

Unfortunately it is work again... not saying where until tomorrow, but feel free to guess based on what I packed:

Day 122 - Year 0 - Oops 2.5.2019

Oops, I did it again...

I just realised that I forgot to write regarding this day (today).

So what happened is that I was so focused playing a game that I completely forgot to write. I think I wrote several times that I cannot play games, as I get out of this world.

And this game I am playing is exactly like that, and it is only text based, only in ASCII characters, a bit primitive, a game with 25 years.

Yes, it is that kind of games that geeks play, a MUD, multi-user dungeon.

It has a steep curve, but since I played many text adventures in the days, well, it is just a walk in the park.

Day 121 - Year 0 - The old Guys Bicycle tour 1.5.2019

So today, International Workers Day, I decided to work..out my legs.

We gathered a bunch of Portuguese and just went for a quick and small ride, full of problems... with me... first it was a puncture after 5km... and I left the wheels mis-aligned, but now all is good, it just took a little longer than it should.

Beatriz was out almost the entire day with a friend, splitting the time between houses and trampoline.

Eva had a lot of time for her hobby today, a lot of new baby items done.. (We take orders) :)
